02 / ABOUT ME
Workshop experience, engineering discipline.
I’m a mechanical engineer with a hands-on route from welding and fabrication into CAD design, manufacturing and project delivery.
My career has covered SolidWorks design engineering, contract design work, product and process engineering, CNC engineering for motorsport components and architectural metalwork, and end-to-end mechanical project management, with time spent in the water treatment industry too.
That breadth helps me design with the workshop and the finished product in mind. I hold an FdSc in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, my own current SolidWorks licence, and am available for contract/freelance CAD and design engineering work outside IR35.

What kind of work is taken on?

What types of projects do you take on?
Any CAD design or mechanical engineering project. The portfolio shows the breadth of that experience, from industrial equipment and automated gates to bespoke architectural metalwork, rather than a single specialism.
How long are engagements?
From a defined piece of work to medium-term contract capacity. The scope and milestones determine the right arrangement.
Remote or on-site?
Remote support is available across the UK. On-site work can be discussed in Staffordshire, Cheshire and nearby areas.
Is the work outside IR35?
Yes. Work is offered outside IR35, subject to the actual working practices and agreed statement of work.
Do I need to provide a SolidWorks licence?
No. I hold my own current SolidWorks licence, so there's no need to worry about any additional licensing costs on your project.
